The chair of Fluid System Dynamics focuses on all questions of fluid mechanics in applied mechanical engineering, e.g. fluid flow machines and fluid systems. We are located on the main campus in building K.
Our experimentation facility (625 sqm, see above) is equipped with state of the art technology and machinery, enabling us to pursue pure research as well as industry-oriented research. Our field of activities ranges from reseaching fundamental aspects of fluid mechanics to industrial product development.
Our main focus lies on fluid flow machines and fluid systems, particularly centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, ventilators, studies on wastewater pumps and optimisation of wastewater systems with active diagnostics, cooling pumps for power plants, numerical fluid flow calculations, drum and dosing pumps and various aspects of wind turbines.
